This is my response to Tom Konkle from the show Safety Geeks on the Anchor Cove Forum:
Tom, EXCELLENT message, I’m with you 100%, our show SPELLFURY is in the same position as you, it’s tough, there’s no money, we work ridiculous hours on our shows, but we will prevail, we’ve got to be GLADIATORS and take out these 800 pound gorillas, this is our space, we’ve got to dig in and fight! Even if we don’t win, we do win for trying, people see that we care and are passionate about our projects and then they might watch the show and see what all the fuss is about. People like our shows because they’re better then most of the crap on television, our shows have a fresh voice and a passion and people can tell. I just received a comment on an episode from a guy that said “this is much better than lord of the rings, and no i am not being sarcastic. i happen to like original ideas”, he’s saying our little shoe string budget web series is better than a trilogy that had a $285 million dollar budget! That’s how we win, we have to find our audience, grow our shows and fight like hell to make money doing it! 2010 will be a great year for a hard working web series I can feel it!!!
Cheers,
Travis Gordon
Writer/Director of Spellfury
P.S We would LOVE your vote for Julie O’Halloran for best dramatic actress in a web series (Show: spellfury url:www.spellfury.com) and Travis Gordon for best visual effects.
